For Tun Abdul Razak, development was not simply about economic growth. It was about creating opportunities, reducing inequalities, and ensuring that the benefits of progress reached every Malaysian.
Driven by this vision, he championed the establishment and growth of institutions that transformed the nation's social and economic landscape. Through organisations such as FELDA, MARA, Tabung Haji, UDA, PETRONAS, and UKM, opportunities were expanded in education, entrepreneurship, rural development, urban growth, and national resource management.
His era also saw the strengthening and creation of many other institutions that continue to shape Malaysia today, including FELCRA, FAMA, Bank Bumiputera, PERNAS, MIDA, Bernama, Bank Pertanian, LPN, LPP, FIMA, MAS, Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri, and Pusat Islam. Together, these institutions laid the foundations for a more dynamic, inclusive, and resilient nation.
It was this unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the people and building institutions for future generations that earned Tun Abdul Razak the enduring title of "Father of Development."
